Super Mario Galaxy - By Silverline

So I picked up Super Mario Galaxy in my local GAME store on its European release. I had high hopes for the game as I have always been a dedicated fan of the Super Mario series.
Now watching gameplay videos of this game before its release had me wondering whether the game will be JUST like that of Super Mario 64 and Sunshine, just collecting stars and beating up bowser to save the princess. Well... the same concept is followed here however the levels you navigate and areas you visit are all EXTREMELY fun and repayable.
Of course the main reason for this would be the fact that small planets and platforms (not all, some) have a direct gravitational pull meaning that you cant fall off and you can run a full 360 degrees around it, opening up brilliant possibilities for puzzles.
Puzzles will include switching the gravitational pull to get to certain areas, collecting shards of launch stars so you can be blasted off to other galaxies and planets and even pulling your way through grab stars which if selected with the Wii remote will pull Mario towards them.
So what else makes Super Mario Galaxy so special. Well, the amount of levels in this game are vast. I myself have completed the game but cant remember the amount of levels you will visit, I can assure you its well over 30, and most of them have at least 6 stars that can be recovered.
Music in game is phenomenal, with the whole soundtrack orchestrated the music is addictive, epic and fits in with the level or area perfectly. Graphics in game, lets face it are no Xbox or Playstation game, but for Nintendo standards are brilliant. Particle effects, character emotion and interactivity is great. The game is well lit and you'll even learn to appreciate small things like the fact Mario's cheeks inflate when he is underwater.
The final thing I'd like to talk about is Wii Remote interactivity. Its quite simple really. Shake the remote or Nun-Chuck from side to side to have Mario preform a spin attack. You point the cursor at the screen and move it over things called 'Star Bits' (which is the games currency) to collect them, and you press the B button to fire a starbit to stun an enemy. Simple. The game can be played Co-Operatively with a friend. Another person can turn on another remote and have his cursor on screen, and help Player 1 collect starbits, shoot enemies and even hold them with the cursor.
Overall the game is a VERY good addition to the Mario series and if your contemplating on buying it, you should certainly pick it up.
