The Simpsons Movie - By Silverline

Ahh the Simpsons Movie. I have watched the Simpsons for as long as I can remember so when I found out about the movie I was stoked. If I remember rightly I saw it about 2 days after it was released in the cinema. Just recently it was released on DVD so I am sure many others have seen it.
So when I first sat down in my local Odeon cinemea with my Large Popcorn, Medium Coke and two friends of mine we were already anticipating whether or not this was actually going to be any good. The traditional 20th Century Fox into started, and already we were laughing... hard. I'm not gonna spoil whats so funny about it, but if you have a good sense of humor you'll be laughing out loud. (trust me its not hard to spot).
So with the first 8 seconds of the film ALREADY making most of the cinema laugh, the rest was bound to be brilliant.
So, the first thing I am going to comment on is the amount of Simpsons characters shown in the movie. There Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Maggie, Flanders, Rod, Tod ......................................Arnold Swarchenegger, Tom Hanks...
If you understand the meaning of those many little dots there, you'll know that the amount of characters that appeared in the movie are, putting it simply, ALOT! Pretty much every single resident of Springfield appear in this movie, and even celebrity guests like Arnie and Tom Hanks!
Next thing is a bit of a downer for me, and what I am about to say will probably cause most people to object but... What the FUDGE is the deal with Spider Pig? You hear everyone going nuts about Homer Simpsons spider pig song! But lets be honest if that wasn't in the Simpsons it wouldn't even make you smile! Now I think that it would have been much funnier if the Spider Pig gag wasn't shown in like, every single trailer, because it it was just like 'Meh' when we finally saw the Spider Pig bit in the movie. Seriously Spider Pig fanatics get a hold of yourself. Would you have laughed if say... Tom Cruise sung Spider Pig? No. Thought not.
Now onto storyline, and what can I say its pretty epic for the Simpsons. I'll sum it up in about a paragraph. The town of Springfield is imprisoned in a giant glass dome when it is rated to most unclean and dangerous city in America, this is due to the amount of waste dumped in lake Springfield. Before this terrible event Lisa managed to get everyone to stop dumping things, but naturally Homer manages to get everyone imprisoned by dumping a massive contained full of *sigh* Spider Pigs droppings into the lake. After Springfield is encased in the dome the residents find out it was Homer Simpson who caused it, and an angry mob decides it would be best to kill the Simpson family. Before they can do so they manage to escape the glass dome (not saying how), thus beginning their quest to free Springfield from its imprisonment.
That isn't the full story, but it gives you a jist of what to expect. A decent fairly funny, typical corny Simpsons storyline.
Nothing much else to comment on other than the fact that its certainly a brilliant film, and that you should rent, or buy the DVD whenever possible.
Thanks for reading.
