The Golden Compass - By Shadow Link
I have always been a fan of Action/Adventure films, but mixed with fantasy it defiantly goes up my ally, considering the fact that I am currently writing a script for a film which is a fantasy, it is defiantly my favorite category of films.

From the very first minute I knew I was watching a masterpiece, it of course progressed and flew interesting concepts and ideas at me, however I am religious in my own right but that does not fend of me enjoying the film to the slightest. I loved the storyline and plot, the idea of animal spirits and the rest, with an explosive finale the film was well put together.

The visual effects and the soundtrack where both very good highlights, some of the scenes looked completely fantastic.

There isn't much negativity for me to put forward to the film however, I won't strongly recommend this to people who are only looking for action as you will find a lot of fantasy in this film that might blast your mind forward, plus it is in the end a family film so you wont see much blood either, but that's not the point is it? no the point is the storyline which I say does better then almost anything out there.

Apparently this film is the start to a trilogy and the ending tells me that. For more information on the trilogy check out This Link IMDB has the next film release near the end of 2009. But I think once the Golden Compass comes out on DVD I'll be watching it quite a few many times. I have to give it a grand score of 9.8/10. I loved the film to bits, it gets what it deserves.
